Some may know Jon Favreau as Happy from the ‘Iron Man’ movies

While Jon Favreau worked as an executive producer for Marvel movies like Iron Man, some fans know him as Tony Stark’s assistant, Happy. In movies like Iron Man, Avengers: Endgame Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Happy acted as a friend to Tony Stark, a mentor to Peter Parker, and, evidently, a love interest for Peter’s aunt.

One of the first “Disney” movies that Jon Favreau worked on was Marvel’s Iron Man, which premiered during 2008. Since then, Favreau had a hand directing and producing movies like Jungle Book and The Lion King.

Jon Favreau worked on Disney movies, including ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘The Lion King’

Aside from his beloved role in Marvel movies, Jon Favreau has a role behind the scenes, working on multiple Disney live-action adaptations. One of the first movies he worked on was the studios’ 2016 release, Jungle Book. There, he helped create the larger-than-life, photo-real world of Mowgli and the other animals of the jungle.

During the summer of 2019, Jon Favreau worked on Disney’s photo-real adaptation of The Lion King. This updated version of the 1994 animated film features the voice acting of Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Seth Rogen, and Billy Eichner.

“Everybody’s got their own formula. I’m not saying this is the way you do it, but it’s the way I’ve done it,” Jon Favreau said during an interview with Variety. “You don’t want to reinvent it completely. You want people to see it and be able to say, ‘I saw The Lion King.’ Just like when I went to see the play. I went to see the play.”

“I had seen the movie, and I said, ‘I saw The Lion King.’ Now the play is an hour longer and has different songs, different scenes but somehow it captured the essence of the film. You would casually say it’s the same exact story,” he continued.
