Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will have some serious ground to cover if all the rumors concerning the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) installment’s potential narrative and character introductions turn out to be true.
The movie will proceed WandaVision, as Strange presumably comes to battle the fractured reality that Wanda’s fractures mind creates. If Wanda wills Vision back to life, as she does in the House of M comic series, Strange will have to combat a world splitting at the seams. However, that’s not the only narrative this film is allegedly attempting to tackle.

While rumor has it that a few of Fox’s X-Men may join the soiree, recent insider reports claim that one specific mutant will come to the table, with a specific purpose to the ongoing saga, laying the foundation for the rest of Phase 4 and beyond. Marvel and DC Insider Mikey Sutton recently shared (with Geekosity: All Things Pop Culture) “intel…from private conversations that transpired before pre-production.” While he notes that adjustments are possible, the scoop bears a narrative logic and an appeal (given the Fox/Disney merger) that cannot be denied.

‘Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness:’ The beginning of The Illuminati in the MCU
Mikey Sutton explains that, in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, Steve Ditko (Strange) will require assistance to guard the earth from extra-terrestrial threats the Avengers are not accustomed to handling, for Scarlet Witch’s actions in WandaVision will leave a portal open for “otherworldly terrors to invade our planet.”

According to Insiders, towards the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Strange will form The Illuminati, recruiting Professor X and Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic); the former will reportedly appear in the movie.
The question is: if this Illuminati rumor is true, who will play Professor X? Who can replace James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart? And, other than Reed Richards and Professor X, who else is slated to join The Illuminati?
Mr. Fantastic, Professor X, Strange, and who else: Who will be the other three members of the MCU’s Illuminati?
Mikey Sutton goes on to elaborate, adding in the heroes likely to become a part of Strange’s fierce force. He notes:
Black Bolt, Namor, and Black Panther will apparently be joining this group of eggheads. And the magic has only begun…According to multiple sources, Multiverse of Madness will be followed by Triumph and Torment in which Doctor Strange goes to Hell with Doctor Doom to rescue his mother from Mephisto.

While Black Panther has already entered the MCU — in glorious fashion — Black Bolt and Namor have yet to appear in the complex cinematic web. Black Bolt rules The Inhumans in the MCU; he is capable of triggering destructive shockwaves than can level cities when he speaks. And, as for Namor, he is similar to DC’s Aquaman, in that he possesses super strength and impressive aquatic abilities; however, he can also fly. In short, it looks like Strange has quite the motley crew in mind.
