On the twelfth day of Christmas, Jennifer Lopez strutted down the Golden Globes red carpet wearing a bright green, gold, and white gown designed by Maison Valentino. Although the dress’ colors are delightfully eye-catching and festive, we are admittedly confused by the massive bow affixed to the front of the dress. The bow is so distracting, it arguably eclipses Lopez’s stunning emerald and diamond accessories á la Harry Winston. We’re not sure what the star was going for here. One clever Twitter critic aptly compared her designer gown to actor Ryan Reynolds’ infamous and oh-so-meme-able ugly Christmas sweater. Maybe she’s not quite ready for the holidays to end, considering she received stunning emerald earrings from fiance Alex Rodriguez to mark the occasion.
To her credit, Lopez did nail a gorgeous up-do of braids, and those smoky eyes? The “Dinero” singer’s makeup artist clearly knows her way around an eyeshadow palette. Lopez’s look might have missed the mark with the masses, but there’s no denying she’s an industry boss eight days a week.
