Daisy Ridley starred as Rey in movies like ‘The Force Awakens” and “The Rise of Skywalker”
Fans first met Rey in 2015, when she was just a scavenger on Jakku. Now, this character, portrayed by Daisy Ridley, holds the legacy of the Jedi on her shoulders, as she must face Kylo Ren and the rest of the First Order during The Rise of Skywalker.
This final movie in the Star Wars sequel trilogy premiered on Dec. 20, 2019. Since then, it became one of the most popular movies of the month, earning Disney millions of dollars during its opening weekend alone. Now, some fans are wondering what’s next for the actors behind characters like Rey, Finn, and Poe.
Unfortunately, Disney has not announced any future plans for Daisy Ridley/Rey. According to Time Magazine, there’s another trilogy in the works, to be written and directed by Rian Johnson. However, this trilogy will not involve the Skywalker saga.
What other movies does Daisy Ridley have lined up?
Aside from Star Wars, Daisy Ridley appeared in a few other movies since the start of her acting career. That includes Murder on the Orient Express, Ophelia, and voice-acting in Peter Rabbit.
The actress was set to appear in the movie Chaos Walking, alongside Spider-Man: Far From Home actor Tom Holland. However, the movie has since been deemed “unreleasable,” according to the Wall Street Journal. In 2020, Daisy Ridley will reprise her role as Cotton-Tail in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway. According to IMDB, she’s also set to portray Virginia Hall in the recently announced movie, A Woman of No Importance.

Daisy Ridley commented on the opportunities that Star Wars gave her during an interview
Now that the trilogy is coming to an end, some are wondering what’s next for actors like Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and John Boyega. In one article for The Guardian, Daisy Ridley discussed her life since Star Wars, and what it meant for her acting career.
“Star Wars has given me the opportunity to do smaller things and allowed me to say no, which is glorious. I don’t talk a lot about various things because there are people fighting the good fight, and I know I have safety in that the people I have worked with have loud voices,” Daisy Ridley said. “Well, there was another film I really wanted to do, but there were a number of factors that meant I didn’t believe it was right.”
When asked how so, the actress said, “well, it wasn’t equal and all that stuff, so I said no, even though that’s really scary. But how much of a blessing is it to be able to say no?”
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently playing in theaters.
