Just imagine tacos without hot sauce or fettuccine without Alfredo. Sauce is the best part of so many meals. With all the wholesome options available, it’s so easy to improve the flavors of your meals the healthy way. And this “magic” avocado sauce recipe in particular doesn’t just up the taste—it also allows you to reap some anti-inflammatory benefits.
Liz Moody, healthy living expert and author of Healthier Together, recently shared her go-to sauce with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy—not to mention that it’s ridiculously creamy. This avocado sauce recipe uses raw garlic and plenty of cilantro to deliver an impressive nutritional punch.
“There’s raw garlic for immune support, avocado and olive oil for healthy fats, cilantro for heavy metal chelation and phytonutrients, and citrus juice and zest for tons of flavor and anti-inflammatory benefits,” she says. “Fun fact: Citrus zest has more nutrients than the rest of the fruit, and it’s especially good to protect your skin and make it glow.”
To make this magic avocado sauce recipe, simply blend until smooth and creamy, and you’re ready to eat. It lasts for up to a week in the fridge, and you can use it on almost any meal of the day. “It makes everything you put it on—eggs, tacos (we did black bean, red onion, and mango!), salads, and roasted or raw veggies—10 times more delicious, and 10 times healthier,” she says.
Maybe consider tripling the batch because you’re going to want to eat this healthy mix all week long.
