Rihanna was set to appear in court on June 23, 2020, in a case against her father, Ronald Fenty, according to the Daily Mail.
However, the singer lives in London, England while the trial is set to take place in Los Angeles and because of the pandemic, travel has become too complicated, according to The Blast. A judge has agreed and signed off on the postponement, now creating a new court date of September 22, 2020.
In response to the lawsuit, Ronald claimed he was the first to use “Fenty” and that his entertainment company came out before Rihanna’s “Fenty Beauty.” However, according to the Daily Mail, Ronald has been falsely acting as his daughter’s agent, along with his business partner, Moses Perkins.
Things still seem positive, however, as The Blast shares that Rihanna told courts back in December 2019, that she would be willing to use mediation. In fact, the mediation was scheduled for March 2020, but the spread of the coronavirus shut that possibility down.
