In December 2021, Chris Noth faced sexual assault allegations after two women came forward to The Hollywood Reporter with their stories. Zoe, who was given a pseudonym, alleged that Noth invited her to his apartment in 2004 and assaulted her. She went to the hospital afterwards, but did not reveal Noth’s identity. Lily, the second woman, claimed that in 2015 she was also attacked in Noth’s apartment. She said that when she mentioned he was married with children, he replied that marriage is a sham and monogamy is not real. Noth denied the claims made by both women in a statement. A third woman told The Daily Beast that she was also sexually assaulted by the actor at a restaurant in 2010, which he also denied.
