She shared with CBN that she was enjoying the simple things like not wearing pantyhose or putting on makeup every day. However, Gifford had another reason for leaving the show – she wanted to spend more time with her father who was suffering from a rare form of dementia. She told the New York Post that she needed to have that time with him without cameras in her face and without having to explain things.
