BREAKING NEWS: Kogi Police Accused of Brutality, Threatening to Kill, and Withdrawing Money from Victim’s Account (Video)

In a shocking incident, officers of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Kogi State Police Command have been caught on camera allegedly extorting money from a Nigerian travelling in a GUO company vehicle. According to one of the passengers who recorded the video, the police officers stopped them and started harassing them. One of the officers then removed his uniform and took one of the passengers to a nearby bank with an ATM and forced him to withdraw an undisclosed amount of money. When some of the other passengers challenged the police officers, they threatened to kill them. The passenger identified the leader of the police team as Ogu Godwin and said that one of the policemen in the video slapped some of the passengers while shouting “I will kill!”

In response to the incident, Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that the case had been referred to the X Squad, Force Criminal Investigation Department for investigation. He added that he had asked for the report and would make comments as soon as possible. He also noted that the PPRO Kogi should have followed up on this case.
