Watched at Home: Top 20 Streaming Films for Week of April 25

Welcome back, couch potatoes! Another week has flown by and now it’s time to judge you on the content you watched via Watched at Home Top 20 presented by The Digital Entertainment Group. Joking. No judgments here. I’m currently binging the entire Clone Wars series again because … why not?

This week saw Bad Boys for Life leap into the No. 1 spot over the reining champ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Clearly, the bumped-up Disney+ release date means the film will now drop down the charts like a [insert catchy Star Wars thing here]. Even so, the Skywalker finale still sits at No. 2 on the charts just ahead of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, which jumped all the way from No. 7. Audiences have taken to the gritty crime flick, and for good reason — hint: it’s excellent.

Sonic the Hedgehog, Jumanji: The Next Level, Doolittle, and Call of the Wild continue to linger in the next four spots. Actually, the list doesn’t get interesting until No. 14 where newcomer Like a Boss resides. The comedy joins Ip Man 4: The Finale, Fantasy Island and Spies in Disguise as the only newbies on the list.

I imagine Spies in Disguise will linger for a while. I watched it last week with the family (after skipping its theatrical release) and actually quite enjoyed it. It’s a fun flick with dazzling animation that should entertain (or distract) kids for a couple of hours.

Sadly, this week was the first without Frozen II and Onward, which dropped off the Top 20 completely. Still no Lord of the Rings, which means we need to step it up, people! I’ll even take The Hobbit, if you’re so inclined.
