He described how the 17-year-old youngster collected his phone number and somehow obtained his BVN while at his office in Lagos.

According to him, the youngster was so engaged in his laptop that he seemed to have forgotten he was in his office.

Through his BVN, he told him the bank he uses and his account number and asked if he should demonstrate to him how he would move his (EFCC chairman’s) money to his own bank.

The EFCC chairman noted that what these young men need is to be taught to utilize their skills to do something legal, and helping them to stop seeing fraud as a way of life.

He added that they try not to give young men heavy sentences so as not to cut their lives and careers short.
