Jnr Pope and others lost their lives in a boat mishap while en route to a location in the riverine area.
Survivor Thank God Ikoma testified about his escape and mentioned Emeka Mercy Johnson being on the boat.
However, the guild clarified in a letter signed by President Emeka Rollas that the person referred to was not Mercy Johnson but her former PA known as Emeka Mercy Johnson.
The guild denounced the blogger who spread the false rumor, attributing it to substance abuse.
The letter emphasized that the news was a misinterpretation and urged the public to ignore the fake news, advising fans not to believe the allegations aimed at tarnishing Johnson’s reputation.
