New Ghost of Tsushima Gameplay Details Revealed
According to PSLS, new details about the highly-anticipated video game Ghost of Tsushima have been revealed in the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine. The Sucker Punch title won’t feature waypoints, for example, which will allow gamers to navigate the island of Tsushima more realistically.
An excerpt from the magazine explained: “Again nodding to realism, you explore the island’s lush environments without the help of waypoints, choosing where to explore next using landmarks and your knowledge of the world. Sucker Punch is no stranger to creating open worlds, but the fairly minimalist nature of the environments is a bit of a departure for the developer. Time in the story will pass as you explore, with titles telling you how much time it’s been since the invasion began.”

Additionally, the strength of a side-character or ally’s bond to Jin will be based solely on player-choice. For instance, if a disagreement with a former ally gets too heated between them and Jin, the situation may end in trading blows.
The preview also teased that Mongol camps and Mongol-occupied castles can be infiltrated by players either stealthily or with a full-on action approach; Jin will be able to enter and exit these areas undetected (if a player chooses the stealthy route) with the help of tools such as grappling hooks and sticky arrows.
Ghost of Tsushima will apparently begin with the Mongol empire’s attack on the island of Tsushima. Throughout the adventure, on-screen titles will inform gamers on how much time has passed since the invasion. Time will also pass as players explore the open-world.
Sucker Punch Productions’ action-adventure title takes place in 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan, until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting—the way of the Ghost—as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
