A social media user, Michelle Buchi, recently shared her troubling experience of overhearing her employees speaking negatively about her, despite her kind gesture of buying them lunch.
Michelle explained that she had refused to allow the workers to independently purchase materials for the job due to their intention of overcharging her.
Feeling conflicted and hurt by the betrayal, she turned to the online community for advice on whether she should still offer them the food she had bought.
In her post, she questioned whether she should still extend this kindness after discovering the disparaging remarks made about her. The workers seemed to resent her for not letting them profit unfairly from inflated material prices.
If you were in her shoes, what would you do?
