On July 5, the Dong Nai Police received a request from the Bac Giang Police to collaborate in rescuing victims who had been deceived and sold to Cambodia. The victims were en route through Dong Nai province towards Ho Chi Minh City at the time.

The PC02 police contacted one female victim and gathered information about the group’s whereabouts. They reassured the victim and advised her on how to protect herself while buying time.

It was revealed that Tran Xuan Truong from Thai Nguyen was leading the victims on a bus along Highway No1. The decision was made to intercept the bus in the vicinity of Dong Nai Bridge.

At 1 am, when the police approached the bus, Truong tried to flee by climbing onto a nearby roof. However, he was apprehended by the police using professional tactics.

The two rescued victims, T.A.T from Bac Giang, and H.V.L from Lang Son, disclosed that Truong had promised them lucrative job opportunities.

Upon realizing the deception, the victims contacted their families, who promptly alerted the authorities about the human trafficking scheme.

During interrogation, Truong confessed that he had joined a job-seeking group on social media and was lured into crossing the border to Cambodia in search of high-paying jobs.

Truong was coerced into scamming Vietnamese individuals online and extorted for ransom when he failed to meet the traffickers’ demands.

After his release, Truong was enticed by an individual named ‘Thu Ha’ to partake in a fraudulent job scheme in Cambodia, offering a monthly salary and additional incentives for recruiting others.

Truong deceived individuals and received money from ‘Thu Ha’ before being instructed to transport more victims to Cambodia.
