Sharon Stone demonstrates embracing life fully as unforeseen events can alter it drastically.
Following the success of ‘Basic Instinct’, the actress faced a life-altering stroke that left a lasting impact on her.
Post her recovery, she discovered that some individuals, whom she thought cared for her, had exploited her and her health circumstances.
“Despite having $18 million saved from my success, all my funds were depleted. My possessions like the refrigerator and phone were under others’ names,” Sharon Stone revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter almost twenty years later.
The stroke-induced injuries reshaped her life, thought process, and brain functionality entirely.
“A Buddhist monk guided me on confronting life challenges as a rebirth into my own body,” shared the actress about her newfound perspective.
The Details of Sharon Stone’s Stroke
The actress vividly recalls the doctors’ prognosis on the life-altering incident: “I had a near-death occurrence and was resuscitated. I had brain hemorrhage for nine days, displacing my brain forwards. It was no longer in its usual position.”
The aftermath was grueling, and Stone struggled with its repercussions for years: “Many thought I wouldn’t make it. It altered everything: my sense of smell, vision, touch… Reading was impossible for a couple of years.”
She chose to cling to life, embracing every moment possible. The essence of hope was paramount: “Allowing bitterness to consume you will linger. Yet, with faith, even as tiny as a mustard seed, survival is possible.”
