Da Nang emerged as a favored tourist spot, bustling with visitors during the summer due to the thrilling face-off between Finland and China.
Le Trung Chinh, the Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, highlighted the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) as a remarkable event since 2008, drawing in crowds of tourists to the city.
The Da Nang Department of Tourism disclosed that the fireworks festival made a significant impact on the city’s tourism industry. Data showed a surge in flights to Da Nang prior to the final night of DIFF 2024, with 455 flights recorded. On July 12, there were 162 flights, a 40% increase compared to regular days.
On the final day (July 13), accommodations in the city hosted over 90,000 guests, including 30,000 international visitors. Room occupancy rates soared past 95%. Tickets for the fireworks display, accommodating over 10,000 people, sold out days in advance.
DIFF 2024 saw substantial investments totaling in the hundreds of billions of VND, involving around 2,000 contributors and a year-long planning process. The event spanned over a month with five nights of competition, enhancing Da Nang’s appeal to tourists, both local and international.
Chairman Le Trung Chinh conveyed, “The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, which began in 2008, is a distinctive and enchanting event. The city continually evolves and offers new cultural and tourism experiences, ensuring visitors immerse in the festive and lively atmosphere of this stunning coastal city.”

During the finale, the French team scooped the “Creative” prize for their outstanding performance in the qualifying round, while the Italian team won the “Most Loved by Audience” award.
Parading impressive fireworks shows and innovative techniques, DIFF 2024 solidified its position as a highlight of Da Nang’s vibrant summer, drawing in numerous tourists and elevating the city’s reputation as a top tourist destination.
