After the tragic death of Matthew Perry, where he was found in his hot tub in California, authorities are scrutinizing a list of suspects believed to have provided the late star with drugs like ketamine.
The Los Angeles County Coroner stated that the cause of Perry’s death at the age of 54 was linked to the “acute effects of ketamine”, ruling out any connection to medical procedures.
Following Perry’s long-standing battle with addiction and efforts to help others, the Los Angeles Police Department initiated an investigation into identifying the source of the illegal drug provided to him after his relapse.
Collaborating with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the LAPD has compiled a list of suspects whom they plan to press charges against.
A source informed In Touch that “They have a list of suspects,” and this revelation has put many individuals in Hollywood on edge.
The probe is not limited to drug dealers but may also involve medical professionals or doctors who may have prescribed medications beyond legitimate necessities.
Suspects could face charges of drug distribution leading to death or severe bodily harm, with a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison upon conviction, or involuntary manslaughter charges.
The Crucial Factor for Prosecution
Tracy Walder, a former CIA and FBI special agent, expressed doubts about successfully prosecuting charges of murder or manslaughter.
“The issue of intent will be crucial,” Walder emphasized. “Those who provided drugs to Matthew Perry knew it was wrong, but did they realize it could result in his death?”
