Warning: Beware of Fraudsters Expanding Criminal Activities to Ritualistic Killings

Authorities have cautioned the public about a concerning trend where internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as yahoo boys, are now involved in ritual killings, targeting unsuspecting victims, particularly women, and using their body parts for ritual purposes.

Police Alert Women and Young Girls

The Osun State Police Command issued a strong warning to women and young girls in the state to be cautious of these internet fraudsters.

Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the command, emphasized in a statement issued on July 31, 2024, that yahoo boys in the state have extended their criminal actions to include ritual killings.

They have been using various deceitful tactics to lure victims, mostly women, into isolated areas where they are then killed and their body parts harvested for rituals.

“The Osun State Police Command is alerting the public, particularly young girls, about the activities of these internet fraudsters known as Yahoo Boys,” the statement warned.

“This caution is crucial as the command has observed alarming tactics used by Yahoo Boys in our society,” it added.

Opalola assured that the police are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of both residents and visitors in the state.

The Command also pledged to continue diligently working towards apprehending and prosecuting individuals involved in criminal activities.
