Lawyer and Two Others Kidnapped by Gunmen in Anambra State

Reports indicate that a group of armed individuals invaded Nkpologwu community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State and abducted three individuals, including a lawyer, on Saturday, August 11, 2024.

According to sources, the gunmen carried out the abduction between 7:30 and 8:00 am and took the victims to an unknown location. A video circulating online shows a flipped vehicle on Nkpologwu-Akpo Road, believed to be owned by one of the victims identified as Ahinze.

The President General of Nkpologwu Community, Prof. Ferdinand Ezeiruaku, confirmed the distressing incident and mentioned that the victims were taken from various spots within the community by heavily armed assailants.

“Two of the victims, including the lawyer, reside in Abuja, while the third victim is based in Port Harcourt. They had come back to the community for an event organized by the local women’s group,” Ezeiruaku elaborated.

Expressing worry for the safety of the abducted individuals, he urged the public to keep them in their prayers for a safe release.
