Strict Conditions for Signing with Fire Department Inc. by Paul Okoye

You Will Pay ₦10 Million Fine If I Catch You (via Primetweets)

Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rude Boy, has set out a list of requirements for artists seeking to join his record label, Fire Department Inc.

Rudeboy established Fire Department Inc. in 2019 following the breakup of Psquare, the renowned music duo he formed with his twin brother, Peter Okoye.

Although the brothers briefly reunited in November 2021, their reconciliation was short-lived, and they have since been embroiled in disagreements.

In an Instagram Live session, Rudeboy expressed his frustration with artists who develop a sense of entitlement after attaining fame and claim independence from record labels.

As per his terms, aspiring artists must meet certain conditions, such as providing tangible guarantees like property ownership and having their parents co-sign a legally binding contract.

Additionally, any artist caught smoking will face a hefty N10 million penalty.

Rudeboy stated, “Some individuals believe they have outgrown the need for record labels. Therefore, here are my conditions. You must present properties, and your parents must co-sign. If I catch you smoking as my artist, you will be fined N10 million. Hence, if you ask me when I will sign new artists, my response will be uncertain.”
