A recent statement by Dr. Stephenson Ojeifo, the Director of Public Health at the State Ministry of Health, revealed three cases of Monkeypox in Edo State.

The state government has confirmed three cases of the Monkeypox virus within its borders.

Dr. Stephenson Ojeifo disclosed the detection of these cases within the last 72 hours.

The infected individuals are currently under isolation and receiving treatment at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH) in Irrua and Edo State University Teaching Hospital in Auchi.

Efforts are being made by the state in collaboration with other parties to provide the public with essential information and educational resources on the disease.

Residents of Edo State are advised to adhere strictly to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.
