Zahara Jolie recently impressed many with her stellar dance performance as she joined her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority sisters for an energetic showcase at Spelman College.
A TikTok video featuring the 19-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt dancing to the tune “Back Outside” by Anycia and Latto quickly went viral, capturing the attention of viewers.
Her fans were thrilled to witness Zahara embracing campus life and showcasing her passion for dance in the video. It not only displayed her talent but also her excitement for being part of the esteemed sorority.
Embracing her roots
Zahara began her journey with Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first historically Black sorority, during her sophomore year. In a video shared by Essence, she made a memorable entrance to the sorority.
During her introduction, she proudly stated, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. Coming from the Golden State in the city of angels, Los Angeles, California… I am number seven in this line.”
Her introduction marked a significant moment as she decided to drop the “Pitt” from her name, opting to be identified by her mother’s surname.
Her commitment to AKA and her academic pursuits at Spelman has been backed by her family. In November 2023, Angelina Jolie, along with Zahara’s brothers Maddox and Pax, attended an AKA luncheon to celebrate the new members of the Mu Pi Chapter.
The Jolie-Pitt family has faced internal challenges, particularly following the highly publicized split between Angelina and Brad in 2016.
Some of Zahara’s siblings, including Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, and the twins Knox and Vivienne, have maintained a lower profile. However, a few, like Shiloh, have legally distanced themselves from their father by omitting his last name.
