The UEFA Europa League’s new league phase draw was held in Monaco, featuring an expanded 36-team competition using the “Swiss model”.
In this format, each club will be drawn to play eight opponents, with no teams from the same country facing each other and a limit of two opponents per country.
The top eight teams will advance to the Round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in a playoff for a spot in the next round. The bottom 12 teams will exit the competition.
Among the teams in Pot 1 are Manchester United, following their FA Cup victory last season.
