Anna Sorokin, known for deceiving banks and friends by posing as a wealthy German heiress named Anna Delvey, is set to join the cast of “Dancing With the Stars,” coming from a recent past of legal troubles.
She will be featured alongside fellow participants like former NBA star Dwight Howard, actress Tori Spelling, and Jenn Tran from “The Bachelorette,” adding an intriguing mix to the show’s lineup.
Despite being on house arrest since October 2022 due to immigration issues, Sorokin is gearing up for her appearance on the show, with promotional images showcasing her in a glamorous dress complete with an ankle monitor.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement are yet to address the adjustments made to Sorokin’s house arrest terms that might allow her participation on the show in Los Angeles.
While complying with the judge’s orders during house arrest, Sorokin managed to engage in podcasting activities, welcoming various guests to her New York apartment for recordings, all while navigating her legal battles.
Sorokin expressed her hope to rebrand her public image through mainstream avenues like her upcoming appearance on “Dancing With the Stars,” marking a new chapter in her narrative.
The 33rd season of the show, premiering on Sept. 17, will have a diverse lineup including other notable figures such as Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik and rugby player Ilona Maher among others.
Key changes in the show’s lineup this season also see the promotion of dancer Ezra Sosa to a “pro” position, while Artem Chigvintsev will not be returning as a pro following recent legal issues.
