Joe Igbokwe, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged President Bola Tinubu to address the recent hike in electricity tariffs across Nigeria.
As a strong supporter of Tinubu, Igbokwe expressed his concerns, noting that if the situation is not addressed promptly by the government, it could jeopardize the viability of many businesses.
In a recent Facebook post, Igbokwe highlighted that the electricity units purchased for N20,000 now only last for a single day.
He called on the government to reconsider the current electricity pricing.
He stated: “PBAT, please consider reviewing the new electricity tariff in Nigeria. If the government does not act quickly, it will threaten businesses. I run a small office in Surulere with about 7 air conditioning units.”
“Previously, we could get over 300 units for N20,000. However, after purchasing N20,000 worth of units yesterday, they were depleted within just one day. We fall under group Band A. I truly hope this can be reassessed.”
