Travis Kelce Addresses Backlash Over US Open Outing with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce makes a surprise revelation in response to criticism of US Open appearance with Taylor Swift

The exciting 100th episode of the podcast “New Heights“, hosted by NFL siblings Travis and Jason Kelce, marked a significant milestone. Shortly after securing a lucrative $100 million deal with Amazon for the show’s production, the brothers shared insights on their respective teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as Travis’ unexpected presence at the US Open men’s final this past Sunday.

Travis was not alone during this major tennis event; his partner, renowned singer Taylor Swift, joined him. They faced some criticism online for their enthusiastic behavior, particularly when caught on camera singing along to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love“. This latest podcast episode provided Travis an opportunity to address the backlash stemming from the viral video.

Travis took a risk

In the new episode of “New Heights,” Travis opened up to Jason about his experience at the prestigious US Open. He remarked on the electrifying atmosphere of one of tennis’s premier finals.

“It was like a whole new experience,” said Travis. “Each time I looked around, I recognized someone in the crowd. There were countless fans eager to witness the match, especially since an American was competing in the finals.”

Travis noted the challenge of maintaining the decorum expected in tennis, revealing that he even pushed boundaries, jokingly mentioning he was almost ejected by security.

“In such a quiet setting, the urge to say something is strong,” he shared. “I’ve never been quiet, always trying to crack a joke or stir up some fun when things are hushed.”

Throughout the event, he did resist the temptation to heckle Sinner, ultimately choosing to “fit in” alongside Swift, who is currently taking a break from her tour.

“I was going for that classic country club look with my cardigan, button-up, and matching hat. Dressed head to toe in Gucci, and sporting a Magoo mustache. The bucket hat plus mustache really gave off those vibes. As a kid, I loved Mr. Magoo, man!”
