On September 12, Lottie Moss, sister of iconic supermodel Kate Moss, was admitted to the hospital following an overdose of Ozempic. The 26-year-old experienced severe seizures attributed to extreme dehydration.
Reports indicate that Lottie acquired the medication through illegal means from her physician, which poses significant risks for both parties involved. Medical professionals were alarmed upon discovering the amount of Ozempic she injected into her leg, which is generally prescribed for individuals who weigh at least 100 kilograms, nearly double Lottie’s weight.
Lottie is currently in a stable condition and making progress in her recovery from the dehydration episode.
This incident is not unprecedented for Moss; she previously sought treatment at a rehabilitation center for substance-related issues in 2022.
Applications of Ozempic
Ozempic is primarily used for managing diabetes and aiding in weight loss. The medication helps by delaying gastric emptying, decreasing sugar production in the liver, and boosting insulin secretion in response to high blood sugar levels.
This medication is usually given through injections, but it is important to note that misuse can result in serious health risks, including the potential development of thyroid tumors.
Lottie Moss’s Experience with Ozempic
Lottie Moss turned to Ozempic with the goal of losing weight. She began her treatment just two weeks prior to being hospitalized, at a weight of 60 kilograms.
Without proper medical guidance, Lottie escalated her dosage and experienced a rapid weight drop from 60 to 53 kilograms. This led to severe adverse effects, including frequent vomiting and an inability to keep food or fluids down.
During her podcast, *Dream On*, Moss reflected on her experience and the troubling symptoms she faced after taking two doses of Ozempic.
“I was throwing up, it was horrible. I took a lower dosage the first time, but then I increased it. I ended up bedridden for two days, feeling extremely unwell, and my weight had dropped,” stated Moss.
After her hospital visit, Moss expressed regret over her actions and has vowed to avoid not only Ozempic but any unprescribed substances in the future.
“I would rather die than go through that again. It made me feel so nauseous,” Lottie said after leaving the hospital.
