The memorial service for Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the recently deceased President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, is set for November 1.
Senator Ben Obi, the chair of the burial committee, announced the details during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
Joined by notable officials including Amb. Okey Emuchay and the burial sub-committee leads, Senator Obi outlined the series of commemorative events that will occur prior to the burial.
He stated: “Today, we are here to share the schedule for the burial of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
“A tribute event in Lagos will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Eko Hotels and Convention Centre.
“Abuja will host its tribute on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the National Ecumenical Centre.
“The Enugu tribute is planned for Saturday, October 26, starting briefly at the Ohanaeze headquarters, followed by the main event at Okpara Square.
“In Owerri, a Service of Songs is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, 2024, with a Commendation Service on November 1 in the same city. The burial will also occur in Imo on Friday, November 1, 2024.
“Additional information will be provided as we proceed.”
