“Five Suspects Nabbed in Elaborate Scam Involving ‘Impersonation of Brad Pitt’ to Con Ripe Victims Out of €325,000”

Five arrested for using the 'fake Brad Pitt' method and swindling 325,000 euros from two women

The Civil Guard has arrested five individuals and is looking into ten others as part of the Bralina operation. This group is accused of defrauding two women out of 325,000 euros using a scam involving impersonation as Brad Pitt.

Authorities conducted the operation across several provinces including Almería, Málaga, Vizcaya, Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Huelva, and Seville.

Throughout the investigation, authorities were able to trace, freeze, and retrieve 85,000 euros of the stolen funds.

Victims believed they were in contact with Brad Pitt

The victims explained that scammers convincingly portrayed themselves as the Hollywood actor, claiming to have an online relationship with him. They alleged that it was Brad Pitt himself who solicited the funds.

Although it may seem implausible, the deceivers executed their scheme so effectively that the victims fell for it.
