Taylor Swift is reportedly considering reducing her attendance at Kansas City Chiefs away games to shift focus away from her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce. Since their relationship became public, Swift has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Chiefs, but she chose to miss their recent game against the LA Chargers as Kelce has been facing challenges early in the season.
A source revealed to The U.S. Sun that Swift is likely to attend only home games for the next few weeks, depending on her busy schedule.
With her highly successful Eras Tour returning for its North American segment later this month, Swift‘s schedule is quite full, which is influencing her appearances at games.
Swift’s thoughtful choice
Although Swift enjoys supporting the undefeated Chiefs led by coach Andy Reid, her decision to step back may alleviate some pressure on Kelce, who has not met expectations at the start of the season.
The 34-year-old athlete is struggling to connect with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and as the team prepares for an upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints, Kelce is still searching for his first touchdown of the season.
“Taylor wants to keep things low profile to shield Travis from potential criticism,” the source told The U.S. Sun.
“She cares for him deeply and believes he will recover, but she is willing to skip some games to lessen the pressure he faces.
“This challenging phase in Travis‘ career is something she wishes to support him through, even if that means not attending certain games.
“Taylor and Travis spoke the day before the game in Los Angeles, and she opted not to attend to help avoid drawing any unwanted attention.
“The ongoing criticism and spotlight on him due to his performances have added extra stress.”
