Halle Bailey, star of The Little Mermaid, and her rapper partner, DDG, have ended their relationship less than a year after the birth of their son. This surprising breakup comes after nearly three years of dating.
The couple began their relationship in December 2021 and welcomed their son in December 2023, keeping the pregnancy under wraps.
After 10 months of parenthood, DDG announced on October 3 that they had made the tough decision to separate, stating that it was “the best path forward” for both of them, while confirming their friendship remains intact.
“After careful thought and meaningful discussions,” DDG shared on Instagram. “Halle and I have chosen to part ways.”
“This was not an easy choice, but we feel it’s what’s best for both of us. I value our time together and the love we’ve had. Despite this change, we still have a deep love for each other.”

The couple recently appeared happy during a vacation in Italy in July 2024, even sharing the first pictures of their son by the Mediterranean. This trip followed Bailey’s earlier denial of breakup rumors in April, labeling them as untrue, despite the couple unfollowing one another on Instagram, which hinted at issues.
This unexpected split comes after Bailey expressed her desire for a large family with DDG. However, the breakup appears to validate earlier speculation, although the 24-year-old Bailey has not yet made a public statement regarding the situation, according to PageSix.com.
