Tragedy Strikes as Son Fatally Attacks Father in Kogi at Just 19

Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, the elder sibling of the victim, verified the tragic news, explaining that a sister reached out to him while he was at home.

In a shocking incident in Lokoja’s Sarkin-Noma area, 19-year-old Abba Yusuf is accused of fatally stabbing his 60-year-old father, Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather.

An eyewitness reported to Daily Post that the stabbing occurred on Saturday around 8:30 a.m. when the son attacked his father.

The elder brother, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, shared that he was informed by his sister about the incident and rushed to his brother’s home, only to learn he had already been taken to a nearby hospital.



“My sister told me our brother was killed by his son. I hurried to his house, but they informed me he had been taken to the hospital,” he recounted.

Bala mentioned that the police have since detained the suspect. He also noted that the suspect’s mother and her other two children have fled to an undisclosed location.

Attempts to contact the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, for more information on the situation were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to either calls or text messages.
