Nguyen Anh Minh’s remarkable skills propelled Vietnam to triumph at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur Team Golf Championship.
Playing at their home course, the Vietnamese team showcased their talent, with Minh achieving three under-par rounds.
Thanks to the stellar performances by Anh Minh and Khanh Hung, Vietnam secured the top position on the leaderboard after three rounds with a combined score of -12, narrowly leading Japan and outpacing New Zealand by five strokes.
On the final competition day, Anh Minh maintained his lead for the team, finishing the round with a score of -5, which was vital for the Vietnam team’s championship win with an overall score of -20, three strokes clear of Japan.
This victory marked a historic achievement, as it was Vietnam’s first triumph in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Team Golf Championship. Nguyen Anh Minh was particularly impressive, scoring under par in each of the four rounds (-1, -5, -1, -5).
The championship took place from October 15 to 18 in Hai Phong, where 19 teams from the Asia-Pacific region competed.
The Vietnamese squad consisted of Nguyen Anh Minh, Le Khanh Hung, and Ho Anh Huy. Initially setting their sights on earning a medal, they surpassed all expectations by claiming the title.
