Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and actress Hailee Steinfeld have enjoyed a strong relationship for more than a year.
Though they initially preferred to keep their romance private, they have recently started sharing glimpses of their connection on social media.
In her newsletter, Beau Society, Steinfeld frequently discusses her bond with Allen. In a recent edition, she recounted a humorous incident from their first Christmas, where they unintentionally exchanged the same gift.
The Unique Gift Exchange
The gifts were matching knives, just in different colors. Steinfeld mentioned that Allen revealed a superstition about gifting knives; if the recipient doesn’t pay for it, it’s said to be bad luck.
“I gifted Josh a knife for Christmas last year because we love cooking together,” Steinfeld shared.
“He gave me the same knife but in a different color! After we swapped our knives, he shared that an old wives’ tale suggests that a knife gifted without payment could lead to a broken relationship.”
To avoid this negative omen, Steinfeld said they symbolically paid for their knives by exchanging coins.
“So, we exchanged quarters to lift that bad omen. Honestly, I adore this knife! I may not have much knowledge about chef’s knives, but this one feels amazing and makes me feel like a pro,” she expressed.
Another Fun Memory
Alongside the Christmas anecdote, Steinfeld also reminisced about being discreetly present at the Bills’ season opening against the Arizona Cardinals.
The game ended with a 34-28 victory for the Bills, and she shared that she made sure to remain low-key during the event.
“Yes, the rumors are true. Football season is here, which means a few things for me,” Steinfeld stated. “Firstly, I get to see my favorite person create NFL history each week. Secondly, chilly weather means sipping hot chocolate while wrapped in vintage Bills gear.”
“During the game, I found myself thinking about how fortunate I am to witness the brilliance of JA17, the incredible Bills team, and the thrilling atmosphere at the stadium,” she added. “And, of course, the amazing people that make up Bills Mafia are unmatched!”
