Unveiling the Stunning Chin Khoanh Slope: A Paradise for Adventurers in Ha Giang

Ha Giang’s breathtaking Chin Khoanh slope, a must-see for adventurers

Discovering Chin Khoanh Slope: A Scenic Adventure in Ha Giang

Chin Khoanh Slope, situated around 120km from the heart of Ha Giang, links the communes of Sung La and Pho Cao. This slope is a segment of the Bac Sum Slope, which can be found along National Highway 4C, a crucial route in Ha Giang Province.

This site serves as a gateway to the Dong Van Karst Plateau and is increasingly popular among travelers, who often pause here to capture its breathtaking landscapes.

From the top of the slope, visitors enjoy picturesque views reminiscent of Switzerland’s enchanting countryside.

The drive along Chin Khoanh Slope is stunning yet challenging, even for experienced drivers. The road features numerous winding turns and sharp bends, leading locals to remark that “even horses hesitate, and humans feel the strain.”

Viet Anh, a frequent traveler, commented on the difficulty of climbing the slope, stating that while descending is easier, ascending can be quite a test of skill, humorously calling it the ‘Tham Xe’ (vehicle testing) slope.

“A motorcycle with a strong engine and steady handling is essential for navigating this slope. Without that, you might have to walk, push your bike, or ask for assistance. Even seasoned drivers must approach with care,” he added.

Once adventurers successfully navigate this notable slope, they can explore nearby attractions or immerse themselves in the local cultures and cuisines of Pho Cao and Sung La.

According to Hoang Van Huy, a local tour guide, the best time to visit the Dong Van Karst Plateau and enjoy Chin Khoanh Slope is from September to November when the area showcases golden rice fields.

Additionally, Chin Khoanh’s surroundings boast beautiful buckwheat flower fields, making the late-year visits perfect for capturing stunning photos of this iconic bloom.

To reach this captivating destination from Ha Giang city, take Nguyen Trai Road, connect with National Highway 4C, and prepare for a three-hour journey. Perched at over 1,400 meters above sea level, the slope greets travelers with its cool and refreshing atmosphere.

After navigating Bac Sum Slope, explorers can proceed to the Quan Ba Twin Mountains and enjoy the scenic Yen Minh pine forest before arriving at Chin Khoanh. These spots are must-visit photo ops on the way to the “gateway to the Dong Van Karst Plateau.”

For a safe journey, it’s advisable to check weather conditions ahead of time and avoid traveling on the slope during late afternoons, at night, or during adverse weather like rain or fog that could impair visibility.

Also, ensure your vehicle is in good condition, equipped with a powerful engine and a full tank of fuel, and consider bringing extra fuel and basic repair supplies.
