In Osun State, a 31-year-old woman and nursing mother, Taiwo Badru, has been detained by Amotekun Corps for engaging in fraudulent activities.

Badru, who lives in Ororuwo within the Boripe local government area, was accused of impersonating a bank official.

During a press conference following a suspect exhibit in Osogbo, the Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Isaac Omoyele, CSP retired, announced that Badru was apprehended on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Omoyele explained, “At around 12:45 PM on October 19, 2024, we received a tip-off leading to the arrest of Taiwo Badru, a 31-year-old resident of Ororuwo who had been duping individuals over the phone by pretending to be a bank representative offering loans.

“She had previously engaged in similar fraud while in Lagos before moving to Osun.”

“Her fraudulent activities led her to illegally receive N4.5 million from a victim named Fatai Saidi in Ororuwo. She was caught while trying to con the victim for more money.”

Omoyele indicated that Badru admitted to her offenses and claimed that she used the stolen funds to support her family.

Additionally, others presented as suspects were arrested for theft and fraud, including Musbau Saheed Ganiyu, Afeez Ayuba, Awal Adebayo, Ilerioluwa Nurudeen, Olalekan Mashood, Kayode Odesanmi, and Rasheed Abdullahi.

The commander stated that all suspects will be transferred to the relevant security authorities following the completion of the investigations.
