Typhoon Tra Mi Update
As reported by the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Typhoon Tra Mi is currently located over the East Sea.
At 1 AM on October 23, the typhoon’s coordinates were approximately 15.2°N latitude and 125.4°E longitude, situated in the eastern waters of Central Philippines. It is experiencing maximum sustained winds of level 9 (75-88 km/h), with gusts reaching up to level 11. The typhoon is advancing northwest at a speed of about 20 km/h.
In the upcoming hours, Tra Mi is anticipated to maintain its northwest trajectory, moving at roughly 15 km/h. By 1 AM on October 24, its center is projected to be at around 17.1°N latitude and 122.1°E longitude over land east of Luzon Island, Philippines, with estimated wind strength of level 10 and gusts of level 12.
Forecasts indicate that the typhoon’s intensity is expected to increase.
Current Weather Conditions in Northeast Vietnam
Northeast Vietnam is currently under the influence of cold air. In Bach Long Vi, winds from the northeast are at level 6, with gusts reaching level 7.
The cold air will persist on October 23, affecting Northeast Vietnam, North Central Vietnam, parts of Northwest Vietnam, and Central North Central regions. Northeastern winds will start at level 3 and enhance to levels 4-5 along coastal areas.
Due to this cold front, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces will experience cooler temperatures. Starting the night of October 23, nights and mornings will see significant temperature drops, especially in mountainous regions, leading to chilly conditions.

In the North East Sea, including regions around the Paracel Islands, strong northeast winds at level 6 will occasionally increase to level 7. The eastern waters may also see winds from level 6-7, with gusts up to level 8-9. Sea conditions are expected to be rough, producing waves between 3 to 6 meters high. In the Gulf of Tonkin, northeast winds will blow at level 6 with gusts up to level 8-9, resulting in rough sea with waves from 2 to 3.5 meters.
