Ruben Amorim is set to join Manchester United following his last game as manager of Sporting CP.

The 39-year-old has agreed to a contract with the club that will extend until the end of the 2026/27 season, taking over from Erik ten Hag.

He concluded his management at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in style, leading his team to a 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, a match that thrilled his future supporters.

Amorim will lead Sporting CP one last time against his former team, Sporting Braga, on November 10, before officially assuming his role with Manchester United the next day.

He plans to use the November international break to evaluate his squad prior to his inaugural Premier League game on November 24 against Ipswich Town.

As he strategizes for United, Amorim aims to adjust the team’s tactical setup to enhance defensive balance.

With an enhanced need for speed and adaptability in defense, he will be pleased to learn that Leny Yoro has returned to full training after his earlier injury.

United secured a deal to sign the French international from Lille for £52m ($67m) ahead of their preseason tour in July, managing to outbid Real Madrid.

Tragically, Yoro suffered a broken foot just days into the tour, sidelining him since his arrival.

Recent updates from the Daily Mirror indicate that Yoro is recovering well and may be fit to play against Ipswich sooner than expected as he ramps up his fitness during the upcoming break.
