A recent turn in the investigation concerning Liam Payne, a former member of One Direction who tragically passed away, has led prosecutors in Argentina to charge three individuals who were involved in the circumstances surrounding his fall from a Buenos Aires hotel balcony on October 16.

Overview of the Liam Payne Investigation

The prosecutor’s office indicated that one person, a businessman from Argentina who was with Payne during his time in Buenos Aires, has been charged with failing to provide assistance following his death.

This individual, who allegedly masqueraded as Payne’s manager, chose not to inform the singer’s family about his recent drug struggles.

On the day of the incident, this businessman reportedly ignored police pleas for help.

Additionally, two others face accusations of providing drugs to the singer.

A hotel maintenance worker is alleged to have given Payne cocaine on two separate occasions during his stay.

The second suspect reportedly supplied drugs twice on October 14. Both are facing charges regarding the distribution of narcotics, according to prosecutor Andres Madrea.

Return of Liam Payne’s Remains to His Family

Post-mortem toxicology results showed that Payne had traces of cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription antidepressant. However, officials confirmed there was no evidence of “pink cocaine,” a substance that had been reported by some outlets.

Autopsy results indicate that Payne succumbed to “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” consistent with a fall from the third floor.

Investigators observed that he did not take any measures to shield himself during the fall, implying he might have been unconscious at the time.

His remains have been released to his father, Geoff Payne, who arrived in Buenos Aires shortly after the accident.

Geoff Payne has been cooperating with local authorities and is expected to return his son’s body to the U.K. for planned memorial services.

Liam Payne gained fame as part of the immensely popular boy band One Direction, which launched him into global recognition.

The inquiry into his untimely demise continues, with Argentine officials dedicated to uncovering the entire narrative behind his tragic passing.
