“Swifties Speak Out: Taylor Swift’s EMAs No-Show Sparks Mixed Reactions as She Cheers for Travis Kelce”

Swifties react to Taylor Swift's absence from MTV Europe Music Awards to watch Travis Kelce: This liar

Taylor Swift surprised her fans by missing the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during a game with the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite being nominated seven times and winning four awards at the EMAs, she opted for a pre-recorded acceptance speech for her win in Best Video, which she shared with Post Malone.

In her speech, she expressed sadness about not being present, but it became clear she was actually in Kansas City cheering for the Chiefs, who won a close game against the Denver Broncos 16-14.

In her message, she stated, “Hey guys, it’s Taylor. I’m checking in from the Eras Tour. I’m really disappointed not to be there with you tonight, but I greatly appreciate these wonderful awards.”

She continued, “It’s mind-blowing that you have recognized the tour and everything connected to the album this year, including the video. Thank you to the fans for your votes. You are the reason for all my successes, and I feel that every day. I’m truly grateful and thrilled with this.”

“My time touring Europe this summer was incredible, so it means a lot for you to celebrate it this way.”

Fans React to Swift’s Absence

Fans humorously commented on Swift‘s decision, especially since she is currently on a brief hiatus from the Eras Tour, which will resume soon in Toronto and wrap up in Vancouver in December.

One user on X noted that while they understood her need for rest, they still found it amusing that she was effectively deceiving her audience while the truth was evident.

Another fan quipped, “‘I’m so sad I can’t be with you tonight’—what a classic fib.”

During the game, Swift passionately cheered for Kelce, who made headlines by tying Tony Gonzalez’s record for touchdown receptions within the franchise.
