A devastated husband is speaking out online, claiming that medical negligence led to his wife’s tragic passing.

He recounted on Instagram that his wife was scheduled for a cesarean section on October 29, but complications arose, resulting in her death the following day, October 30. She leaves behind a young daughter and a newborn son.

The husband posted a picture of his late wife, expressing: “Island maternity took my wife’s life due to incompetence and stupidity.”

He detailed, “My wife was supposed to have a C-section on October 29, 2024. We arrived at the hospital that morning and completed all payments, including for two pints of negative O blood. She was the third patient scheduled for the day. The first two were in surgery for roughly 30 minutes before both mother and child emerged.

“When it was her time, she was taken to the operating room. About 15 minutes later, I was shown my baby boy, born at 12:26 pm. I thought my wife would be out shortly, but the nurse then informed me they needed more blood due to fibroids blocking the stitching area of her womb, which they had cut. I was never informed they would remove anything.

“They asked me to find two more pints of blood, which is not easy to obtain. Thankfully, I managed to arrange it. After that, my wife was taken out, connected to IVs. A few hours later, a nurse asked me to pick up Rogham from the pharmacy.

“While I was there, my brother-in-law called me, saying my wife was being rushed back to the operating room. I rushed back, only to learn her abdomen was swelling due to blood accumulation, necessitating emergency surgery. My brother-in-law informed me she was having trouble breathing and had already signed paperwork for a complete hysterectomy.

“After over 30 minutes, she was brought out and transferred to ICU, where she fought for her life. I had to advocate for four more pints of blood, which included renting an ambulance to find blood plasma and additional pints from various sources, even utilizing O+ blood.

“At 3:00 am, she was on her seventh pint when she suffered cardiac arrest and didn’t survive.

“My wife’s death resulted from the hospital’s incompetence because had I known they would perform a fibroid operation alongside the C-section, I would have refused. I am seeking lawyers to help us pursue legal action against this hospital.”
