Sean Diddy Combs might have involved Jennifer Lopez in his life to manipulate his ex, Kim Porter, and encourage her to reconcile with him during their tumultuous relationship from 1999 to 2001.
Kim Porter, who was the mother of his son, Christian, had an on-again-off-again relationship with the now-controversial music mogul until 2007.
During a breakup from Porter, Combs dated the now-famous singer Lopez to show Porter what she was missing. At the time, Lopez was 31 years old.
In a 2007 interview with Essence, he expressed, “I thought, ‘I’ll test the waters,’ and hopefully, Kim will recognize I’m serious and come running back to me.”
Throughout this time, Combs and Lopez seemed inseparable, with Combs even calling her a “perfect match.” However, they separated in 2001, shortly after which Lopez married Chris Judd.
Despite Combs’ relationship with Lopez, Porter remained steadfast and aware of his feelings, eventually reconciling with him in 2003. They stayed together for four more years before finally parting ways.
Over the course of their relationship, they had three children: Christian and twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila. The twins faced the heartbreaking loss of their mother, who passed away from lobar pneumonia in 2018.
When is Sean Combs’ trial scheduled?
It remains unknown if either Lopez or Porter were aware of Combs’ alleged actions during his private gatherings where inappropriate activities reportedly occurred.
The situation escalated following Cassie Ventura’s dramatic lawsuit, where she accused him of rape, abuse, and trafficking. Combs settled the case within two days while maintaining his innocence.
He was subsequently arrested by the Department of Homeland Security and now awaits trial on charges related to sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, set to commence on May 5, 2025.
Combs consistently denies all allegations and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
