Jay Leno, the much-loved comedian and former host of The Tonight Show, is showing remarkable strength and humor after yet another serious accident.
This past weekend, Leno experienced a significant fall while he was at a hilltop hotel. He admitted that he attempted a shorter route to the hotel restaurant but ended up slipping while going down the hill. He fell hard, according to his own words.
“I thought the hill wasn’t too steep—around 60-70 feet. I decided to go for it,” he explained to TMZ.
A costly misstep for Leno
Unfortunately for Leno, he underestimated the terrain and ended up taking a hard tumble. “I fell down. Boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill and banged my head on a rock, injuring my eye,” he described.
As a result of this fall, Leno suffered multiple facial bruises, a broken wrist, and even lost a fingernail.
Nevertheless, Leno didn’t let his injuries deter him. He went on to perform at the Palace Theater in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, just three hours later.
“It’s nothing serious, I’m alright,” Leno remarked, minimizing the impact of the incident.
Leno maintains a positive outlook despite the accident
Even amidst this latest incident, Leno kept up with his work commitments. The next day, he sought medical help in Los Angeles, but reassured fans that he remained upbeat.
This isn’t Leno’s first brush with significant accidents. In 2022, he endured third-degree burns across his face, chest, and hands due to an incident while working on his car.
In spite of his injuries, he humorously acknowledged the Grossman Burn Center for aiding in his recovery, even joking, “You’d expect a zipper here,” during a segment on Kelly Clarkson’s show.
Earlier in January 2023, Leno was involved in a motorcycle accident that caused many broken bones, yet he continued on with his performance tour.
Through all these challenges, Leno has shown remarkable positivity and resilience, serving as an inspiring figure for his supporters.
