Despite ongoing speculation regarding an engagement with 26-year-old model Vittoria Ceretti, Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly adhering to his traditional dating preference of women who are 25 and younger.
The acclaimed actor, who just turned 50 on November 11, has been a topic of gossip following rumors that he proposed to Ceretti. However, a source close to DiCaprio quickly dismissed these assertions.
“This is absurd – no one can convince Leo to walk down the aisle,” remarked the insider.
The source elaborated that DiCaprio holds Hollywood icons Jack Nicholson and Al Pacino in high regard, both of whom have openly criticized the institution of marriage as they have aged.
“Leo admires both Jack and Al, and he respects their clear disdain for being tied down by relationships,” the insider disclosed.
“This attitude is part of what attracts him to them, and he isn’t worried about potentially ending up like them, alone after years of romance,” they continued.
Marriage seems unlikely for DiCaprio
This isn’t the first instance of engagement rumors surrounding DiCaprio. Earlier in March, Ceretti was spotted with a ring on her left hand during a lunch date with the actor in Los Angeles, igniting speculation of an engagement.
However, despite the buzz, their relationship seems to be developing without inclinations toward marriage. The two were first seen together in summer 2023, dancing in Ibiza, which fueled romance rumors.
“They’ve been spending considerable time together lately and are really enjoying getting to know one another,” remarked a previous source.
Even though DiCaprio has expressed his lack of desire for marriage, the couple reportedly plans to celebrate Thanksgiving together.
Last year, they spent the holiday in London with Ceretti’s family, and she has already established a rapport with DiCaprio’s mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, as well as his longtime friend, actor Tobey Maguire.
