Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have parted ways romantically, but sources indicate they plan to keep their connection intact.
Even after their public breakup four months ago, both actors are dedicated to staying in touch for their children’s sake.
“They are committed to remaining in each other’s lives, despite their romantic split,” a source told Page Six. “Ben and Jennifer continue to communicate when it comes to their children.”
Their relationship is notable in Hollywood history. They first crossed paths while filming “Gigli” in 2002, and a whirlwind romance ensued, leading to an engagement that year. However, they called off their wedding plans in early 2004.
In a surprising turn, the couple reignited their romance nearly twenty years later, getting engaged in 2021. Fans rejoiced at the reunion of “Bennifer,” culminating in a Las Vegas wedding on July 17, 2022, followed by a larger celebration in Georgia.
Yet, by August 2024, two years after their lavish wedding, Lopez filed for divorce, signaling the conclusion of their second marriage. Nevertheless, both actors highlight the importance of their family bonds.
Focus on family unity
Sources reveal that the former couple has maintained a “mutual respect” for each other. While their romantic relationship has ended, they continue to support each other’s families.
“Things have changed, but there’s a lot of shared history,” an insider shared with Page Six.
This shared past includes their children, who go to the same school, allowing the ex-couple to see each other during various school functions. Recently, Affleck, Lopez, and Jennifer Garner (Affleck’s ex-wife) were spotted together at a Los Angeles school play.
They attended to support Affleck and Garner‘s 15-year-old daughter, Seraphina, alongside Lopez‘s 16-year-old child, Emme, from her previous marriage to singer Marc Anthony.
“Whenever they meet, Ben and Jennifer are amicable,” the insider revealed. “While they might not have a typical co-parenting relationship, they still feel like a blended family in many ways.”
