While promoting his latest Netflix film, ‘Back in Action’, alongside Cameron Diaz, Foxx shared a fun anecdote about his encounter with Mayweather. He mentioned having struck the boxing champion during the filming of an unreleased project that may never see the light of day.
When asked about any notable physical interactions with celebrities in films, Foxx enthusiastically revealed, “Yes. I got a chance to knock out Floyd Mayweather. In a movie that will probably never be released called ‘All-Star Weekend'”.
The Knockout Scene
This incident marked Mayweather’s cinematic debut in a scene where he was floored on-screen, a situation that slightly made Foxx anxious about delivering that moment. He humorously recounted his thoughts at the time: “I’m doing this and then I have to literally hit him and it’s the only time you see Floyd Mayweather get hit… He reassured me, ‘it’s okay. J Foxx, it’s not real,’ but I thought, ‘if it was real, come on,’” he told Diaz.
Now, Foxx and Mayweather enjoy a solid friendship, occasionally appearing together, albeit avoiding discussions about that awkward scene. Foxx is an ardent boxing enthusiast and a supporter of Mayweather, who reciprocates with admiration for the actor.
