Nigerian rapper Olamide, who leads the YBNL label, has celebrated a significant milestone by reaching over 1 billion streams on Spotify.

This achievement marks him as the first rapper from Africa to reach this level, a success attributed to his blending of Afrobeats and notable collaborations.

Additionally, Olamide made headlines last year by being the first African rapper nominated for a Grammy Award.

His collaboration with Asake, titled ‘Amapiano,’ was nominated in the first-ever Best African Music Performance category but ultimately lost to Tyla’s song, ‘Water.’
