Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are once again taking action to support those impacted by the devastating wildfires in Southern California. On January 10, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Pasadena, California, collaborating with World Central Kitchen to provide meals and essential supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.
Their primary goal was to assist individuals in need while also showing support for local communities and first responders.
During their time in Pasadena, they worked alongside California’s First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Mayor Victor Gordo. The couple was actively involved in distributing meals, providing much-needed supplies, and engaging with those impacted by the wildfire.
They took the opportunity to connect with families, elderly folks, and local citizens, offering compassion and support to those affected by the tragedy.
A notable part of their visit was when the Duke and Duchess expressed gratitude to first responders, including the firefighters and law enforcement who worked hard to control the fire and protect the community.
Mayor Gordo commented that their attendance uplifted the spirits of both the responders and the local residents.
“It’s wonderful that such caring individuals took the time to meet with those who are working hard and those who have been affected… It means a lot,” he stated.
The royal couple also paid a visit to the command center at the Rose Bowl, where they received a warm welcome from the community.
“Everyone was thrilled to see them,” Gordo noted. “They are eager to help… They’re genuinely concerned individuals who care deeply for their community.”
Humble and generous gestures of kindness
Throughout their visit, what was particularly impressive was the couple’s humble demeanor. They opted for a low-profile approach, prioritizing hands-on support over drawing attention to themselves.
Meghan and Harry assisted with food service alongside World Central Kitchen, opting to do so incognito while wearing masks.
