According to Sara Wren from Milk Makeup, this occurs with overly light powders or those high in silica, which reflects light and creates a white appearance in flash photography. It’s also possible with powders containing ingredients like talc or mica. To avoid this, opt for lighter and finer textured powders and always mattify the skin after applying makeup using a setting spray.
